Raleigh Academy of Chinese Language E-mail List
RACL mailing list was established in May 1999 under the help of Professor Zhaobang Zeng and Professor Bailian Li of North Carolina State University. This mailing list is intended to promote effective communication among parents, staff, and teachers, make school related announcements, and discuss important issues of the RACL.
RACL mailing list prohibits any personal/commercial ads and non-school-related messages.
Mailing List Rules
I. Purpose: The RACL email list was established by the school for the purpose of exchanging information of RACL activities, PTA announcements and other RACL community-oriented information that concern the school administrators, teachers, students and parents. It is not intended for personal use, commercial advertisement, political debating, and any other inappropriate usage (see IV).
II. List management: A list manager is appointed by the RACL Executive Committee to manage and monitor the list. The list manager has the responsibility to facilitate list subscription and unsubscription (see III), to monitor message posting (see IV) and to enforce the rules (see V).
III. Subscription/unsubscription: Subscription and unsubscription to the list is open to RACL staff, teachers, students and parents.
IV. Posting messages: Posting a message to the list is open to the list subscribers. Because emails can be intrusive, RACL restricts the message volume on the list. The following categories of messages can be posted to the list directly:
- RACL information and activity announcements,
- RACL PTA activity announcements,
- RACL community-related activity announcements, such as announcements of activities organized by CAFA and CAST.
- Discussion initiated by the RACL Board of Directors, PTA and the Executive Committee. Other messages should be forwarded by RACL staff and list manager.
The following categories of messages are prohibited on the RACL list:
- Political, religious or commercial oriented messages
- Personal messages and for-sale messages
- Discussions not initiated by the RACL Board, PTA or the Executive committee.
V. Violations: For the first violation, the list manager will send a private warning message to the sender of the offending message. The second violation will result in a public warning, and the third violation will result in the removal of offender from the list.
VI. Comments and suggestions: RACL Board of Directors and the Executive Committee encourage constructive comments and suggestions about all aspects of the school. In general, please send comments and suggestions directly to the Principal who will forward them to relevant school staff for attention. Complains about the Executive Committee can be sent to the Chair of Board of Directors. Questions about message posting can be sent to the list manager (racl_owner@statgen.ncsu.edu). Please consult RACL web page http://www.racl.org for email addresses of the Principal, Chair of the Board of Directors, and other school staff.
The list is currently managed by Taiping He. If you experience any technical difficulties in posting or receiving message, please contact Taiping He or Qiudeng Que.
