Registration Rules

New students are required to take a test for class assignment except for new kindergarteners and pre-kindergarteners. An original birth certificate or a public school admission letter is required to prove age for new pre-kindergarten and kindergarten students.

  1. Where is RACL located and how can I get there?

·All classes are held at the facility of Forest Hills Baptist Church located at
201 Dixie Trail
Raleigh, NC 27607

  1. What time will classes start?              

·Classes will start at 9:30 AM.

  1. What classes will be held on the first school day?          

·Chinese language class will be held between 9:30AM and 11:20AM.

·Chinese as Second Language (CSL) adult classes will be held between 11:30AM – 1:00PM 

·There will be no activity class on the first day of school (8/25/07)

·Activity classes will start on 09/08/2007

  1. How can I find my classroom?

·RACL will have poster boards near the school entry area where you can find student, teacher, grade, classroom information.

  1. Where can I park my car?

·Both the front and back parking lots as well as street parking spots are available.   Please follow traffic rules and signs.   DRIVE SLOWLY, PLEASE!

·We will have safety team on site to monitor and to direct traffic on the first school day, and on every school day.  Please obey their instructions. 

  1. Do I need to register and pay tuition on the first day?

·Yes, every student must register and pay tuition within the first two weeks.

  1. Where do I register and pay tuition?

·Room 300, on the third floor, North Building .

·Returning students and pre-registered students should go to their classroom directly, and their parent or guardian should register for them at room 300.

·For NEW students, parent or guardian should go to room 300 with your child..

  1. How much and how do I pay tuition?

a) The tuition of Chinese language class is $120.00 this semester, PTA fee: $10.00 (required), and textbook fee  

  • Zhong-Wen Class: $15.00 (required)

  • Ma Liping Class (Paid Separately)

  • CSL/C-1 $45 (required).

b) The tuition of Activity class is $65.00 - $125, plus PTA fee $10.00 (Required, if student takes activity class only). Separate check is required from language class tuition.

c) Tuition for  CSL (11:30AM-1:00PM adult class) is $100.00.   We do not collect PTA fees; however, we welcome your contribution to our fundraising program (optional).  

d) Tuition for  CSL (9:30AM-11:20AM adult class) is $120.00.   We do not collect PTA fees; however, we welcome your contribution to our fundraising program (optional).

e) We prefer checks.  No credit card can be accepted.

  1. When is the last day to register and pay tuition?

· Based on RACL policy, the last day to register without late fee is  09/08/2007. Please refer to the RACL calendar for details. 

  1.  What is RACL’s late fee policy?

·RACL will charge 10% later fee after 09/08/2007, for example, for regular language class, you will pay $145.00 before 09/08/2007. However, you will have to pay $159.50 after 09/08/2007.

·Activity class tuition will be $77.00 ($65 tuition + $10) * 110%) after 09/08/2007.

  1. What is RACL's refund policy?

·Full refund before 09/08/2007.

·50% refund before 09/29/2007.

·No refund after 09/29/2007.

  1. How can I subscribe the RACL mailing list? 

    Please find the instructions on http://www.racl.org/email.html, you can subscribe or unsubscribe to/from RACL mailing list.

    We encourage every RACL parent, and CSL student to subscribe to our mailing list for RACL’s most current news, updates, etc.

 

RACL Admission, Registration and Tuition Policies

A. Admission

For pre-kindergarten and kindergarten students, an original birth certificate is needed at the admission. When there is a space limit, a child will be put on a waiting list. The waiting list is based on the first come first serve order.

B. Registration

  1. One check per child per class. No combined check for more than one child and/or more than one class. No combined checks for language and activity class.
  2. A PTA fee of $10 per semester is payable for every child registered at RACL at the time of registration. Receipts are required in order to receive textbooks.
  3. Original birth certificates are required for kindergarten class registration.
  4. All new students who are not kindergarteners need to see the academic director for test and class assignment.

C. Tuition and Fees

  1. The RACL executive committee determines RACL tuition and fees. The tuition covers teachers' compensation and school operating costs. The fees cover books and other teaching related expenses. Students are required to pay the tuition and fees whether or not books are purchased.
  2. For returning students, a 10% late fee will be added if the tuition is not paid by the 2nd week of the semester.
  3. For new students, the tuition is prorated based on the remaining classes.

D. Refund Policy

  1. Tuition will be refunded fully if a student withdraws from the school before the 3rd week of each semester. From 4th to 8th week, refund will be prorated based on the remaining classes. After 8th week, no refund will be issued.
  2. No refund will be issued if a student is expelled from the school.
  3. PTA fee is not refundable.
  4. No refund will be issued for textbooks.
